Impervious Draft 2 is well under way

You know what’s fun? Moving.  You know what doesn’t leave you much time to update your blog AND work on the various projects you have going at the same time? Moving.  And Starcraft 2.

Shut up!  I’m not a machine.  A man needs his vices.  And whiskey.  Whiskey isn’t a vice though.  Mmmm…whiskey.  Huh? What?  Oh right.  Blog post.

Katie and I have been pretty busy the last few weeks moving into a sweet new pad, which has left me pretty much with just weekends to get work done on personal projects.  For the most part, that’s been WordKeeperAlpha and, let me tell you, that thing is really coming together.  Don’t get me wrong, its still a long ways off, but the graphs on the main page are really getting good and I’ve got some new word metric stats that will be super useful to all you authors out there who keep track of that sort of thing.  Unfortunately, they are also a little damning, since I know exactly how much I didn’t write last month.

But that was last month, this is this month.  Obviously.  This month my goal, aside from more progress on WordKeeper and finishing an outline for Edge of December’s next arc, is to finish marking up the first draft of Impervious.  I AM working on the second draft, but a lot of that is outlining, filling in plotholes, reworking characters and subplots, not much real writing has been done yet, aside from the first few chapters which are WAY better than the first draft.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m still wanting to get this done by the end of the year and I’m shooting hard for it.  Its just, there are only so many hours in the day, and Seth is a very busy man… mostly of my own making, but still very busy.

Speaking of Edge of December, we’re moving into the end of the first Arc!  Something that’s been … what … seven years in the making?  If you’ve been disappointed that things have been moving a bit slowly, worry not.  We’re going to be kicking things into overdrive here at the end of the first Arc and the start of the Second.  Battles! Martial arts! Shenanigans! Wendy looking pretty! (You didn’t think Glenn would stop did you?)  New to the comic?  Why not read it from the beginning?  Fabulously wealthy?  Why not donate a measly $10,000 or so? Moderately well off and looking to encourage capitalism?  Consider buying one of these fine books with two short stories by yours truly, available only through Edge of December.

And now I’m off to watch some Dr. Who with my wonderful wife.  *flee*
