WorldCon or bust!

Heya folks. I’ve been a little lax in posting last month. This is mostly by design, since I’m in the middle of a two month push to finish the second draft of Impervious.

I’m doing pretty good so far. I’ve gotten about five more chapters finished, with an unknown number left. But I’m coming up on the end, which means the action is really kicking in. I get to finally cut loose with all the characters and plenty of folk are gonna die before the end.

Katie and I recently enjoyed celebrating our forth anniversary by going to the fantastic ConQuest in Kansas City. If you’re in the Midwest and looking for a good con to visit, might I humbly suggest that one. I met several awesome authors there this year, attended some fantastic panels, and had a blast.

While there, I finally gave in and signed up to go to WorldCon in Kansas City. For those of you unfamiliar, it’s pretty much the place to be if you are involved, in any way, with the science fiction and fantasy scene. In short, it is where my people will be and, seeing as how WorldCon moves around … Well, the world … This may be one of my only chances to go at a relatively low cost.

To that end, I’m going to be busting my ass to finish the second draft of Impervious by the fifteenth of August. Will I have a chance to pitch it? I hope so, and if so, I want the best draft that I can put together in that time. I at least need a finished draft by then. In all probably, nothing exciting will happen on the professional front, but I’ll still have a fracking awesome time and that’ll be good enough for me. If I also happen to get Impervious kicked into better shape by then, so much the better.

This also means that those new features I’ve been boasting about for WordKeeperAlpha are going to have to wait a little longer. Once WorldCon is over, I promise I’ll focus solely on getting the new Projects and Goals page working and live, then deliver on some of the other promises I’ve been making. Sorry guys, but writers gotta write!

Speaking of which, I’m going to get back to it. I’ve got an Empire to save and/or destroy, a main character to kill, and the Emperor to blame for it (not canon). I’m swamped.
